just loves life

feng shui    (fŭng' shwā')
n.  The Chinese art or practice of positioning objects, especially graves, buildings, and furniture, based on a belief in patterns of yin and yang and the flow of chi that have positive and negative effects.

I have rearranged my room here. I have a nook now. Two, actually. One at this computer, one while in bed. I do believe in feng shui. Absolutely I do. When I rearranged my set up the first time in October or so, things felt not only new and different, but exciting. I was anxious to get home from class, set the lights on, slide into my desk and write and do work and study and enjoy. This reminds me of a conversation I had with Casey and Stephanie one day while walking back to school from lunch. I told him that I was excited to go home to go on the computer that night because I moved the light on the computer desk from one side of the monitor to the other. Genuinely looking forward to experiencing a change of light. Some miniscule, beautiful change of pace.

I'm here in my room at almost midnight, three fourths awake, reviewing and making notes for this week's health lectures. This process worked well last term. I'm hoping for the best again. I hear all the people in the hallways walking in their high heels. I hear the pretend accents that might not be that false after all Just, girly. I hear them calling taxi cabs, complaining, rushing their friends to get into the elevator because they want to go take some more shots at a bar that will easily let them in and cater to their needs for tonight, the next few hours. They'll order pizza after. "...and I'll pay. Well my dad will pay." / "I love your dad."

The shouting of girls names. A couple guys names. Mumble mumble, blur blur blur. La la. "Can I take one more shot? I'll pay you back one shot." Good bye everyone. The heard of lovely rhinos waltz down the hall, out the double doors, smiling and being anxious. One girl runs with her head loose, presumably, with her hair, all hairy and everywhere, crying tears of joy inside, 'cause she just loves her life.
